The Chilliwack Jets are now 2 months into the Inaugural BCHC Season, with the Month of October now complete.
The Month of October was anything but easy for the Jets, as they finished the month with a record of 4-4-1-0. The total record for the club in the BCHC Regular Season is 8-5-1-0, which has them in 2nd place in the Valley Division. The Jets picked up important wins over Mainland Division opponents Port Coquitlam Trailblazers, Burnaby Steelers, the Jets picked up 2 wins from each club.
Here are a few notes and observations from the Month of October.
Jets Takeaways:
Sky-High Scoring Affairs: Every Win in the month of October, The Jets have scored at least 5 or more goals, The game with the most goals was the Jets 9-6 Win over the Burnaby Steelers on October 17th. The lowest scoring contest the Jets had this month was a 5-2 Win against the Port Coquitlam Trailblazers, with a total of 7 goals. The clubs lowest scoring affair all season was Sept 29th vs Princeton, where the Jets won 5-1. Will we see more of these high-scoring games in November?
A Soaring Goals-For Mark: Speaking of goals, the Jets sit high up on the list amongst the BCHC in the Goals-For category, sitting in 1st place with 71 Goals-For. In fact 37 of the goals scored this season have been on home ice. What is also been high is the Jets Goals-Against mark, which places the Jets near the bottom of the league in that stat. Can the Jets maintain their High scoring output and limit the amount of goals they allow next month?
Power Play Finding it’s Way: One Positive about the Jets in October is their success on the Power Play. The Jets are clocking at 25.3%, which is good for 4th in the BCHC overall. Kolton Eady leads the club with 4 Power Play Goals, while Alexandre Jacques leads the way on Power Play Points with 8. It is clear that the Jets rely on the Power Play this year to clinch victories, and it will definitely be a factor over the next month.
